The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Alex Crisp as its inaugural Food and Beverage Ambassador for the next 12 months.
In this newly established role, Alex will lead initiatives aimed at celebrating local producers and fostering greater appreciation for WA’s agricultural excellence and drive the development and promotion of WA food and beverage programs across RASWA initiatives.
Alex’s insights will also be instrumental in overseeing the food and beverage offerings at the Perth Royal Show, including the highly regarded Perth Royal Food Awards, contributing to the shaping of various events and activities held at the Claremont Showground.
A Fremantle-based culinary enthusiast and advocate for Western Australian food and beverages, Alex gained national recognition as a contestant on Season 16 of MasterChef Australia in 2024, where she showcased her diverse heritage by blending Danish and South African culinary traditions.
During Perth Royal Show 2024, Alex headlined the Farm 2 Food stage, where she showcased champion produce from the Perth Royal Food Awards. She has also served as a Perth Royal Food Awards judge and hosted a weekly food segment on Triple M WA radio, further solidifying her role as a passionate advocate for local produce in the Perth culinary sphere.
RASWA CEO Robyn Sermon expressed excitement about the appointment:
“We are delighted to welcome Alex to the team. Her passion for promoting Western Australian produce and her hands-on experience in the industry make her the perfect fit for this role. We look forward to seeing the impact of her leadership in strengthening our Food and Beverage programs.”

“I’m excited to bring a whole new level of energy and fun to RASWA. My vision is to introduce innovative food events to the people of Perth throughout the year while showcasing the incredible talent of WA producers and makers through the Perth Royal Food Awards.”

About Alex Crisp
Alex developed a passion for cooking from a young age, preparing meals inspired by her multicultural background. Despite earning a double degree in Science (Human Biology) and Design (Fine Arts) at UWA, where she studied on a scholarship, Alex pursued a career in the culinary world. Over the past seven years, she has worked in fine food sales, specialising in gourmet products, cheeses, and smallgoods, with a focus on WA’s independent supermarkets.
Her accolades include cooking demonstrations at the Perth Royal Show and working as an ambassador for Endometriosis Australia. Alex’s strong ties to Fremantle, where she grew up, have also fueled her passion for WA’s local food culture. She continues to collaborate with local businesses and industries to champion WA food and produce through recipe writing, demonstrations, and community engagement.
