About Alex Crisp

as seen on MasterChef Season 16

Food has always been a deep passion of mine, shaped by my diverse heritage as a first-generation Australian with Danish and South African roots. As the eldest, I took on the responsibility of cooking for my family while my Mum balanced work and study. It was in our family kitchen that I discovered my true love—cooking. Despite earning a double degree in science and design, I followed my heart into the culinary world, spending the last seven years working in food sales, providing artisanal products to independent retailers all across Perth and the South West.

Recently, I also had the life-changing experience of competing in MasterChef Australia, placing ninth. My proudest achievement to date! Today, I share my love for food through cooking demonstrations, MCing at food events, and hosting a weekly food segment on TripleM WA radio. I’m passionate about educating future generations on ethical sourcing, sustainability, and reducing food waste and also boast a dream of running my own private dining business, which I am working on now!

Having grown up attending the Perth Royal Show since I was a little girl, I’m thrilled to now be headlining the Farm 2 Food stage, where I’ll be showcasing some the Champions of the Perth Royal Food Awards. I am also truly excited to be cooking up a feast at one lucky winners’ home!
