Perth Royal Food Awards COVID-19 Update

To all our valued entrants, judges, stewards, volunteers and supporters of the Perth Royal Food Awards, I wanted to provide you with an update in light of COVID-19 and our preparations for the 2020 Perth Royal Food Awards.

These are of course challenging and uncertain times for everyone. The Royal Agricultural Society of WA (RASWA) like all organisations across Australia, is coming to terms with the ramifications of the unprecedented situation brought about by the coronavirus and we are adapting as best we can.

With the widespread cancellation or postponement of many fixtures of public life in WA, questions have inevitably been asked about the 2020 Perth Royal Food Awards and whether it will go ahead, as planned this year.

We are of course conscious that under current conditions, it would be impossible for the event to go ahead and are now planning how we might proceed in 2020. We will continue to keep you informed as we determine the next steps and when we may be able to commence with competitions.

Please be advised that RASWA is currently operating with a reduced staff number, with the majority of staff taking leave during the months of April and May.

May I once again place on record my continued thanks for your support of the Perth Royal Food Awards and as a courtesy to you, I will continue to update you on preparations for the 2020 Perth Royal Food Awards as information becomes available.

Yours sincerely

Peter Cooper
Chief Executive Officer
